Ten days from now, people who really love house and trance music will fall in love again, and for some, it will be a dream come true to watch Swedish House Mafia live. January 16 is the day every party people are waiting for since it was announced last year that the Swedish electronic dance music trio will be here in manila to perform…I was like OH MY GOD!!!
Now is the day to remember, for this is the time when people will be seeing Beyonce’s face printed on Pepsi cans. Beyonce in can…that’s what I thought of when I saw pictures of her face marked on cans, showing her support in the company’s “Live for Now” campaign. This is a smart move, making it appear like a limited edition cans that all Pepsi and music lovers can have.
As the product’s brand ambassador, she was able to snag a deal which worth’s about $50 million dollars! All I can say is…whoaw!! Today, I think Pepsi will be able to come up with a mentality, in which their product will be always associated with Beyonce or the other way around; it will be a breeze for them to achieve this, since she’s not just a Pop star but a businesswoman too, so I think she can really contribute a lot on how to promote the product and reach thier target market.
On one of Beyonce’s interview, she said “Pepsi embraces creativity and understands that artists evolve…As a businesswoman, this allows me to work with a lifestyle brand with no compromise and without sacrificing my creativity.” True enough, I guess it will be a win-win case for both parties…and I mean it will be good for Jay-Z too (*wink*wink*). Beyonce started to endorse Pepsi way back 2002, but only this time she got it big as the face of the company.

There are more to see in the Billboard’s website, such as top music charts, album reviews, latest news and videos in the music scene. Other than that, take a quick tour on the Billboard Archives, to check out albums that made it in the top from 1940’s to 2012. Lastly, let me present you, number 6 on Billboard’s top YouTube song, One More Night by Maroon 5:
I was having this conversation with a friend, when he shared me this link which he said, “will take your stress away”.
After 3 minutes and 40 seconds, this made me really want to dance the rodeo moves. If you’re into trance like me, put a good vibes mood in Oppa Gangnam Style craze, as Tirgan Oganezov and Burzhuy mash it up with Tiesto and Marcel Woods “Don’t Ditch”, thus with the title “Don’t Ditch the Gangnam Style”. I guess not everyone can’t get rid of this another infectious song, that they made a good twist to it and justify why it’s still fun to dance this song. For those who created this, 5 stars for you guys!!
Like it or not, I know you’ll enjoy the video! 😀
So the wait is over! After years of ranting, finally there’s a reason to rave, because David Guetta will be here in Manila!
Party goers have been waiting for this and Music Management International will bring him here, live, to grant our wish and dance to DGuetta’s chart topping hits. Some of his songs are Titanium ft. Sia, Toy Friend ft. Afrojack and Wynter Gordon, Memories with Kid Cudi, Without You ft. Usher, Turn me on and Where Them Girls At ft. Nicki Minaj, Getting Over You ft Fergie and LMFAO, Sexy Chick ft. Akon and who can forget his collaboration with Flo Rida in Club Can’t Handle me?! Though there are no news yet if any of these artists will be with him in the big party night, but DJ Alesso will mark the opening for his concert. Sweeet!
Everyone! Mark your calendar on October 10, 2012 at SM Mall Of Asia Arena and doors will be open by 8pm. Ticket prices are: Patron (Standing) Php 7,920, Lower Box (Reserved Seats) Php 5,280 and Upper Box (Free Seating) Php 3,170. Though I think the set-up of the stage and all that, ain’t the same as the events that I usually go to, like the one in World Trade Center, where Tiesto held his concert at or Republiq, so I just wonder how the guys in the bleachers can really dance without minding their space. I guess some would really want, like an open space venue, where the people can have at least a table where they can put their drinks on. Anyways, let’s see!

WARNING: This post can cause the fatal LSS (Last Song Syndrome).
Not so long ago, there was a viral video in which some models in the metro (seriously, do I really have to name them all?! argh) made a parody of Carly Rae Jepsen’s Call Me Maybe. Can we please give the credit to Justin Bieber, Selena Gomez and their crew for making the original one?! Now who ever created or directed the “Call Me Maybe” video in which these models dance to, didn’t have the creative mind to even change the credit made at the end of the song…in local terms “gayang gaya eh” (they copied even the credit’s format).
Before anyone in their great mind get to copy another Call Me Maybe parody, let me share three of the best parody of the song. Call Me Maybe is every where…and I mean EVERY WHERE and some people can’t just get enough of it. Well, it’s a fun song anyway.
First in my list is the 2012 USA Olympic Swimming Team’s Call Me Maybe. Gawd! It’s funny to see guys dancing this song, wearing only their swimming trunks! Have fun!
Can’t get enough of great bods dancing this song. Wait till you see Abercrombie & Fitch guys when they made a parody of this song October of last year. Abs, abs abs!! Beat that!
Then finally, who said tough guys don’t know how to have fun? Enjoy as the U.S. Marines stationed in Afghanistan dance and lip-sync to Carly Rae Jepsen’s hit song. Boys (and girls) do just want to have some fun.
At least you know who did it first. Hi five to Carly Rae Jepsen!
It was one hot Wednesday night, when I was surprised to hear that Basti Artadi, Wolfgang’s lead vocalist, started an online show that will really tickles every Pinoy rocker’s heart. As what was told to me, some think they are trying to re-live NU rock 107, this time using online site as their media, and it’s much better because you get view the country’s finest rock bands, via live video streaming.
Checking on their website http://radiorepublic.ph, they are real Pinoy rock revolutionists. I like the part where they say “If you believe that OPM is worth fighting for, then you have come to the right place”, because it’s indeed a home for those who believe in Filipino singer, artist, song writer and just pure talent without compromising quality and just be another band in the market.
Rock Bato is an online portal for those who are craving for real music, created by real talented people who really put their heart on their craft. I was pretty excited when I learned that the legend Kevin Roy, wacky Jay Contreras and Aia de Leon whom I hardly see or hear which makes me really miss their band.
Though I love Basti more when he sings, I also think he’s a good host, in which he really know how to control the show and respect his guest, as he share the spotlight to each of them. I remember them talking about what music industry is like in the Philippines, like they’ve talked about how it is to be a lead singer of a band and what they like about being in a band, which I think makes every viewer feel really close to the artist they are looking up to and for other people to know more about them.
Another great thing about the show, aside from I get to watch Loquy (as Kevin as the lead) live, I also got the privilege to watch music video premiers, like Kamikazee’s Tagpuan. It really shows how each of them enjoys having intelligent and quirky discussion, that for that particular day, they have extended their program for 8 more minutes, instead of strictly 9pm to 10pm show.
Kita-kita mga kabatak! 😀
